Chuck Peterson-CEO & Owner
Chuck is President, CEO and Owner of Chemily Information Management Company. Chuck has over 27 years of experience in the oil and gas and real estate industries. After working as a drilling hand in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming, he attended Texas A&M University where he earned a B.B.A. degree in Accounting. He began his business career as an accountant for a Texas oil and gas company. He became a Certified Public Accountant and joined the accounting firm of Easley, Endress, Parkhill & Brackendorf, where he worked in the areas of tax compliance and IT development and support. Chuck leveraged his EEPB experience to become the Chief Financial Officer for The Midway Companies, a leading real estate development and investment company. In addition to his leadership at Chemily Information Management Company, Chuck is also the owner & president of Gulf Utility Service, Inc. and Principal at Black Swan Investment Partners.
Michael gibson-LanDMAN
Mr. Gibson has held a close working relationship with Chemily Information Management Company since 2010. As both the Land manager and working interest partner for Crossroads, Mr. Gibson serves a liaison to Joint Operations. He manages the proper receiving, recording, documentation and dissemination of all land agreements and contracts.
Mr. Gibson possesses 32 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with an emphasis in exploitation and A&D in the Gulf Coast Region. He has managed more than a billion dollars of property transactions. Prior to his tenure with Crossroad, Mr. Gibson managed A&D and land activities for both Fivepoint Energy and Everlast Energy. He also held the title of VP of Land and Mission Resources, Bargo Energy Company and Goldking.
Veronica Vela-controller
In July 2004, Veronica Vela joined Chemily where she currently serves as Controller. Veronica guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. She is responsible for the oversight and regulation of company funds and accounts and the establishment of budgets. Veronica coordinates the preparation of the company’s annual report and works closely with the CPA firm to complete tax filings in multiple states. She is accountable for cash and risk management and for providing benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations. Veronica affords financial analyses, in particular for capital investments and contract negotiations.
Prior to joining Chemily, Veronica was employed as a staff accountant at Midway Companies where she was responsible for the bookkeeping of their operating companies. She also prepared monthly draws for the development companies and maintained the monthly financials for the operating and development accounts. Veronica also served as a staff accountant in the property management department. Veronica brings with her a plethora of knowledge in both real estate and oil & gas accounting from her years of working in both industries.
Veronica received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Houston- Downtown and also holds an Associate’s degree in Accounting from North Harris Community College.
Heidi Darby-director of accounting
Heidi Darby joined Chemily in September 2011 and serves as the Director of Accounting. She is responsible for the oversight of the daily operations, assignment of projects, and the direction of staff to ensure compliance and accuracy. Heidi also performs all facets of the month end close and reporting, including journal entries and financial statement preparation and analysis. In addition, Heidi’s duties include the reconciliation and remittance of monthly severance and production taxes; AFE setup and maintenance; owner transfers; and division order setup and maintenance. Heidi also serves as the liaison between clients and owners when questions arise. Heidi provides support to the Controller in the development and implementation of internal controls.
Before joining Chemily, Heidi was employed for seven years as an accountant for Nicholls State University where she was responsible for both the faculty and graduate assistant payrolls. In addition, Heidi brings with her several years of experience in tax accounting, audit preparation, and financial projections from her employment as a staff accountant at two CPA firms.
Heidi is a 2000 honors graduate of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Eddie Lopez-Oil and gas accountant
Eddie Lopez joined Chemily as an Oil & Gas Accountant in March 2014. Eddie’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: accounts payable, revenue entry, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger journal entries. Eddie also performs the month end close processing, which produces the joint interest billings and revenue distributions to the owners.
Prior to joining Chemily, Eddie worked in his family-owned aquarium business for over 10 years. His duties there included the management of daily activities, client correspondence, and the overall bookkeeping of the company.
Eddie is a 2010 graduate of the University of Houston where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Accounting.
MAYRA RODRIGUEZ-Accounting ASSOCIATE
Mayra Rodriguez joined Chemily as an Accounting Associate in October 2017. Mayra is responsible for accounts payable, revenue entry, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger journal entries. She also helps with any other projects within the company.
Prior to joining Chemily, Mayra worked for a logistics company. Her duties included accounts payable, accounts receivable, and company payroll.
Mayra obtained a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies form the University of Houston.
